Crafternoons! – June 1st 2-3 pm

Crafternoon is a monthly social and crafting event for children from 2:00pm – 3:00pm on the first Saturday of the month. New craft projects will be taught each month and all supplies will be provided for each child that attends. Join the fun and create unique craft projects!

Koran by Heart

Park City Library invites you to a screening of the HBO documentary “Koran by Heart.”

Three young children leave their native countries to compete in the International Holy Koran Competition where their memory of the 600 page text is tested.

After the screening, Maysa Kergaye, from the Islamic Speaker’s Bureau, will be available to answer general questions about Islam.

This program is made possible by the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf, a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities Bridging Cultures Initiative.

This Place Matters

Celebrate our past, be creative, and win prizes! As part of Park City’s Historical Preservation festivities in June, children are invited to participate in an art contest as the community recognizes our historic structures.

The art contest is open to children, ages 4 through 12.

How to Enter:

Pick your favorite historic building; for example, a silver miner’s house, a main street store, a theatre, or even a school. Then let your imagination loose as you draw, paint, color, or illustrate a place that matters most to you.

Draw, paint, color, or illustrate a picture of your favorite historic building in Park City on 11”x17” paper; available at the Park City Library.
Submit your art work to the Park City Library by Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 5pm.

Awards Celebration:

On Wednesday, June 5^th at 5:30pm, Park City Ghost Tours will kick off the celebration with scary tales of the past, followed by a raffle drawing of the art contest participants. Prizes are sponsored by the Park City Museum and Historic Park City Association.

Join the fun on the second Saturday of every month from 11:00am – 12:00pm. Starts May 11th!

Music and Movement is a lively and noisy hour aimed at toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers to explore a variety of musical instruments, dances, songs, and fantastic books. This program is designed to engage children and get them excited about music, improve their fine and gross motor skills through movement, and spark their creativity; while supporting their early literacy development.
