Virtual Event: Asian American Voices in a COVID-19 World
January 5, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Event Details
The pandemic has escalated racist and xenophobic views of Asian Americans. Verbal, physical, and online hate incidents have increased significantly and usually include anti-Chinese or anti-immigration rhetoric. This includes blaming Chinese people as the source for the pandemic, telling someone to go back to where they came from, or using racial slurs.
Join us on Zoom for a virtual event with Scott Iwasaki, Park Record’s Scene Editor, and Floyd Mori, politician and former President and CEO of Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies. We will discuss the trends of hate incidents and what we can do to make change in our community.
