Get a Library Card

Please bring your library card when checking out materials. There is a $2.00 replacement charge for lost or stolen cards. Your library card gives you access to all online databases and downloadable materials subscribed to by the library.

Important Note: The Park City limits do not include all Park City addresses. Please check your address on the map or call 435-615-5600 for more information.

In order to obtain a library card you must bring the following:

  1. Proof of address (PO boxes do not qualify):  Utah Driver’s License with current address, Utility Bill, Rental Lease, Automobile Registration (with street address), Room confirmation/bill.
  2. Current Government issued ID: Drivers license, Passport, Military I.D., State issued ID card.
  3. Parent or Guardian: Minors will need a parent or guardian present at the library to initially sign for their card.

Types of Library Cards

Resident Card:

For Park City Municipal residents (see map for Park City boundaries).
You may check-out up to 30 items at a time.

Non-resident Card:

For anyone residing outside of the Park City Limits.
An annual fee of $40 per household is charged.
All household members are entitled to cards and full library privileges.
You may check-out up to 30 items at a time.

City Limits Visitor: For adults, 18 and older, visiting or temporarily residing within the Park City boundaries.  Visitor status may range from overnight to up to six months. Timeshare owners are City Limits Visitors.
This card is good for up to six months and may not be renewed.
You may check-out up to 10 items at a time.

Non-City Limits Visitor: For adults, 18 and older, visiting or temporarily residing in Summit County but outside of the Park City Municipal boundaries. Visitor status may range from overnight to up to six months.
A $20.00 fee is required for a six-month Non-City Limits Visitor card.
This card is good for six months and may not be renewed.
You may check-out up to 10 items at a time.

Educator Card: For educators teaching within the Park City School District boundaries, but living outside the Park City limits.  This is an individual card that is available to teachers in the Park City School District, preschool teachers, teacher’s aids, homeschool teachers, etc. The non-resident fee will be waived for these educators.  Proof of employment (which may include an employee Id badge, pay stub or letter on letterhead from employer) or homeschooling (homeschooling registration paperwork) must be presented annually for continued use. This card is good for 1 year. You may check-out up to 30 items at a time.

Student Cards: For Summit County Students.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the child’s library card application in person at the library.
You may check-out up to 10 items at a time.

Wasatch County Student Cards: For Wasatch County students.
An annual fee of $15 is charged for this card.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the child’s library card application in person at the library.
You may check-out up to 10 items at a time.

Organization Card: For any Summit County Organization.
An annual fee of $45 for non-profit organizations or $55 per card for profit organizations is charged for this card.
You may check-out up to 30 items at a time.
