Park City Library has a three-year strategic plan that focuses on user experience, inclusivity, community relationships, and lifelong learning. The Library has chosen to review event offerings in relation to the Sages and Seekers program that was offered in 2024. The goal for this year is to broaden and refine the Sages and Seekers program.
Brainstorming What is to Come
The Library has decided not to offer the Sages and Seekers program in 2025. Instead, library staff and board members are investigating different options for events specifically for ages 10-18 and multigenerational community gatherings.
Engaging Youth
In Spring 2025, the Library offered several programs for youth to teenagers, including:
- Slime making
- Sewing doll bedding and pillows (with a no-sew options)
- Mindfulness for teens
- Friendship bracelets
- Smash Bros Nintendo Tournament
- Financial literacy class on how to pay for college
- Therapy dogs during finals
- A vibrant school break: During school break, there were daily afternoon films and a variety of events. This was very popular with youth and families.
To encourage multigenerational gatherings, the Library hosted its annual Tea Party and added Fairy Cups creations for Earth Day, Dungeons and Dragons Game Nights, a Bilingual Health Fair, Paint Your Own Bookends, and miniature painting.
With this increase of programming for this age group, the library saw a significant increase in attendance.
